About PNmb

Planners’ Network Manitoba (PNmb) is a local chapter of the continent-wide Planners Network (PN), and joins Montreal and Toronto as active Canadian chapters.

It is an association of professionals, activists, academics, and students involved in physical, social, economic, and environmental planning in urban and rural areas, who promote fundamental change in our political and economic systems.

PNmb was established in January 2006. PNmb’s primary goal is draw attention to the importance of planning in addressing issues of social inequity and environmental degradation.

Its intent is to make the links between the concerns of many locally-based interest groups and broader planning and decision making processes at the municipal and provincial levels.

In other words, it is to increase people’s understanding/knowledge about planning: what tools are available and how they are used, and what planning can be to create a better social environment for all of us.
